The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the struggle between spirituality and money, the winner is obvious for materialism in Michael Showalter's wonderfully garish film adaptation about the fallen televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Andrew Garfield plays the greedy Jim, who states at the beginning, asserting religious justification for riches. The couple commence profiting from the American public's spiritual convictions. It's a riot of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and hypocrisy, though Jessica Chastain manages to depict the character with compassion. October 14th, 1.15am, the Film4 channel
